Quick Q&A!

How long have you worked in Notre Dame?
Almost 14 years – I joined Notre Dame in December 2007.  (I’m “middle-aged” and “from the olden days”, according to a P4.)

What is your job in the school?
I am a part-time support for learning worker, I run the school netball clubs and administer the school website.  I also manage Notre Dame Kids Club.

What do you enjoy most about working with children?
I enjoy the day-to-day interactions with children, supporting them in class and in the playground and making sure they’re happy.  Helping them to achieve something – especially something they didn’t expect or think was possible – is most rewarding.

What are your favourite subjects to help children with in school?
I have a background in sport, so PE is my favourite subject.  I enjoy coaching the school netball teams the most; it’s a lot of fun and the children gain so much from it.  I also enjoy helping children with literacy and numeracy (except P7 algebra – need to make sure I have the answer book nearby so I can pretend I know what I’m doing).

If you could have any other job, what would it be and why?
Aside from my school jobs, I also work in the music industry; I help music artists to produce and promote their music.  I’ve worked with some amazing singers, songwriters and producers, but there are still lots of people I’d love to work with.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy playing sports, listening to music and watching TV shows.

If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be?
This is a tough one – I keep changing my mind!  I’ll go with J.K. Rowling!

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Time travel.

Neo soul is my favourite genre but I also listen to hip-hop, R&B, soul and jazz music.

Football is my favourite sport to play and watch… but I also like tennis, table tennis and badminton.
